My Favorite Whitesnake Songs

Whitesnake Band Photo 2009

Whitesnake is my favorite Rock Band!  Woooo Hooooo! And it’s not ONLY cause I’m married to David Coverdale! ha ha.  I liked Whitesnake before I ever met David.  My first favorite Whitesnake song was “Judgement Day”. I still LOVE that song!  In college Whitesnake was one of our (my friends and I) favorite party tapes. We’d listen to Whitesnake on our way to UNR football games and when we’d go out partying. I have fond memories of driving around with my best friend Deanna, in her Volkswagon Cabriolet blasting Whitesnake. I think one of the things that is so appealing to Whitesnake fans, besides David’s sexy voice, is how much fun the songs are!

Now of course my favorite songs are the ones about me!  Just kidding… kind of.

I LOVE  ”Give Me All Your Love Tonight” in concert. I can’t resist dancing to it. And “Still of the Night” of course!

On the new Good To Be Bad CD I love “Lay Down Your Love” and “Summer Rain” !  They are my favs.  The whole CD is great, though, so if you haven’t yet purchased it I suggest you go to itunes and start downloading!

The first song David ever wrote for me is on the Coverdale/Page album.  It’s called “Take A Look at Yourself” and it’s absolutely beautiful. I was pretty much stunned to have someone write a song for me. Years later, David told my mom, “All the nice songs are about your daughter.  All the not so nice songs are about someone else.”  I hope to keep it that way!

I could go on and on…

I love “Love is Blind” of the Into the Light CD and “The River Song” is kick ass. It’s kind of Hendrixy and it reminds me of my brother Scott, who is up in heaven now. I’m sure it’s his favorite.

  1. It`s a delight..to see that you are a Whitesnake “fan”..mind you..not difficult..if one has good taste,lol!

Take a look at yourself is one classy song.
I also think,”wherever you may go”..is very touching..
Such warmth and genuine feeling comes across..
May you be David`s muse always..

  2. Dear Cindy (& David – if I may!!!) I’m from Portugal, we’re about the same age and I’ve also been a fan of David Coverdale/Whitesnake forever and I’ve followed his career, know all his songs, buy all the cd’s I can track and listen to them all the time and never, ever get tired of it… I always found his songs were about his life and experiences, we’re allways able to read his feelings in them… I won’t go bothering you of how much I admire him, his voice and all his artist habilities and human qualities we can find out about by listening or reading to all his interviews and songs but, I will say that for me there´s absolutlely no one better, and it strikes me to find that, since he’s been with you, he sounds so much smoother and happy, quite zen actually:) I’ve only just found this site of yours, I wanted to try to find out something about someone who inspires and gives Peace to David like that… And you also seem to be a great person so, I WISH YOU BOTH AND YOUR FAMILY ALL THE BEST!!! And you keep him working :) and coming to Portugal… I’ve seen his 2004 and 2006 concerts which were mindblowing but, I missed the show in 2008 :( and I’m still hoping he’ll como to Portugal on the Tour he’s now… And it would be great if, instead of Lisbon, he could come to Oporto, which is a very lovely city, but I will go where he’ll be:) So, can you please put a good word for us portuguese fans??? Thanks & bye bye

  3. David LOVES Portugal!! I told him next time they play there I AM GOING TOO! smile. It’s up to the agent and promoters where the bands play. The artists don’t really have input on the matter… But I can say every time Whitesnake has played Lisbon the entire band is so happy. It is stunning, relaxing and FRIENDLY! They love it!

  4. Thanks for answering :) !! And of course you should come, I think you will like it very much, we are a very friendly and peacefull people. Well, I’ll keep checking to see if something new happens. In the meanwhile, I wish lots of success for the Band and yourself. Let me just say one more thing: it´s wonderfull to be able to talk like this to and about someone we admire as much as I admire David Coverdale and his work :) and for that, thank you very much!! I wish there could be also a way to talk to David himself – perhaps there is and I just don’t know it – but I’ll trust you will pass him our good words and wishes :) Till next time – “I wish you well”

  5. Hi Ana. You can talk to David as well as other WS fans at Whitesnake’s website at the BBS forum where David posts comments on a regular basis. :-)

  6. Yep Cindy!! Judgement Day is one of my all time favorites as well! It is just blaring on my myspace page. It is one kick ass song. :-) It is just so darn powerful sounding! I believe that is the reason why it is my all time favorite one. When that one comes on the DVD while on the treadmill it just makes me go faster, faster and more faster!! Ha! Ha! :-) Hell… Whitesnake has so many great songs. When I hear or play certain ones it takes me back to a certain time period in my life. I can remember where I was and what I was doing. It is just plain crazy! :-) But, in such a good way!! :-) P.S. Slow and Easy is one of my favorites as well, for obvious reasons! LOL :-)

  7. Hi Vicki! Thank you very much, it was very nice of you :) You know, I go to WS site every once in a while, whenever time and work allows me, but I’ve never found the BBS forum :( … I´m certainly gonna check it again :)
    I guess we’ll be talking :)
    Bye bye for now

P.S. Hi Cindy, hope everything´s good with you as well. About the WS songs, I really LOVE every one of them, as I told you before, I carry all the WS cd’s I own in my car and I´m always listening to them – there´s always a differente album or song for every different mood, time and place – but one of my all time favourites is “Sailing Ships” – beautifull and powerfull message :) Till next time…

I want to thank to Mr. Coverdale the last album “Good to be bad”. My children love his music. I wish WS come to Spain. I´m from Seville but if they come to Madrid I would go to see them whith my husband. Mr. Coverdale´s music helped me in my life when I was in trouble deep. I´m a dietician and I work at the hospital. Everybody from the hospital are laughing at me because I´m always listen to that music. Well, Cindy thanks about your web and I wish David feel better. I would like you try that they come to Spain in the future. Thanks a lot.

  9. Just found your site and have found it to be very interested. I would DEF take the classes from you if I lived anywhere near there :-)
I’d been wondering what Mrs. Coverdale looked like…not suprised in the least, DC has very good taste :-) I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and chatting a couple of times with him over the years. So happy that he still graces us with his presence and voice when so many others have fallen by the way-side long ago.

Besides the song you’ve mentioned, what other ones has he written for/about you? Nothing says “love” more personally in my opinion.

As I said on the BBS, I hope Tahoe has all of your senses in ‘Christmas’ mode and have Happy Holidays with your family!

  10. Hi Karen! Hmmmmm. Once David told my mom, “All the nice songs are about your daughter… all the not nice ones aren’t!” Ha Ha! I liked that answer a lot. To be honest David has written me LOTS of songs. “With all of my Heart” he gave me for one of our anniversaries, which was so sweet. Sometimes there will be a line or two that have special meaning… Sometimes when I see his lyric pad lying around the house I will put little notes next to the parts I don’t like… Just to make him smile. We laugh a lot in our house and can all three be pretty merciless with teasing at times. Nobody gets away with much!
Happy Holidays! Looks like ours is gonna be snowy and pretty quiet! Perfect.

  11. THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD & THE BEST SINGER IN THE LAND.
